Disability Services and the Office of Access, Compliance, and Community have worked closely to identify and provide a fully ADA accessible restroom. The restroom is located in Student Union Building 1 (SUB 1) [PDF] on the 3rd floor by Suite 3600. The restroom includes a universal changing station (see operation guide below), ceiling lift (see operation guide below), an automatic sink, lights, paper towel dispenser, and an accessible door, countertop, sink, and mirror.
The ceiling lift has an emergency cord, and a maximum capacity of 625 pounds. Slings for the lift will be provided to individuals who are connected with Disability Services and/or the Office of Access, Compliance, and Community. Along with the accessible features, individuals who access this space may be able to keep their personal supplies in a locker within the restroom.
Both students and faculty will need to receive permission in order to have access to this accessible bathroom. Faculty will reach out to ADA/OACC at [email protected] or by calling 703-993-8730. Students will need to reach out to Disability Services either in person in SUB 1 Suite 2500, email [email protected], or call 703-993-2474.
