Support System

1. Help students secure documentation. Information about documentation specifics can be found under the Documentation Guidelines page.

2. Students are expected to take the lead on communication regarding their disability impact and accommodations experiences/request, therefore it is important to ensure your student is comfortable communicating about this information. This includes but is not limited to: 

-Their diagnoses 

-The current impact of their disability (both in and out of the classroom) 

-Their accommodations they have used and found beneficial in the past 

3. Offer continued support as is noted on our High School vs College website 

4. Support student in navigating their responsibilities as a student at GMU (ie- Helping a student as they are communicating with their professors regarding access to their accommodations.)
